Welcome to the idSpace portal

This is the wikiportal of the idSpace project.

The idSpace project is about tooling and training for collaborative distributed product innovation. It is a research and development (R&D) project funded by European Union (EU) [1][2] under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) [3].

The idSpace platform features an integrative toolset that will allow a distributed team of innovators to create new ideas and preserve them, to contribute to existing ideas, and to learn about them. It employs techniques for exploring new ideas (e.g. mind mapping in story writing and brainstorming) and for refinement of ideas (e.g. morphological analysis). The project will develop tools to support traceability among stories, mind maps, concept maps, goals, new product features, as well as company values and policies. The idSpace platform will also preserve semantic relationships among the different viewpoints for later exploration, retrieval, and navigation purposes. The effectiveness of the integrative platform will be tested by exposing it to innovation experts and innovators.

The idSpace platform is built on the Liferay platform [4][5], into which the required functionalities will be incorporated as portlets.

The idSpace project is partially supported and co-funded by the EU under the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) theme of the FP7 for R&D.

Intro

portlet: A pluggable user interface software component that is managed and displayed in a web portal. In idSpace, portlets can be identified as rectangular areas on single pages of the platform, with a light blue or gray frame, and a heading bar with the portlet's name on it.technique: Short for "creativity technique", a careful design of the tasks that teachers and learners will be called to perform as well as tools and resources appropriate to support collaborative knowledge creation.project: A project is what we use to name and work with when we want to work on solving a specific problem.resource: A resource is an external, adressable (usually using a URL) piece of content, to which we can refer.overview: A menu entry which stands for five screens (one to five of ten) describing different elements and aspects of a project which only the moderator can edit.goal: Something which is formulated using the goals-screen - it gets voted upon, and if it is accepted, might serve as a goal for a diagram session in the ideation phase.concept: is a (possibly abstract) item all users agree upon, synonym to idea.idea: is a (possibly abstract) item all users agree upon, synonym to concept.diagram: Something a grop of users chosen by the moderator works on in the ideation phase of a project. Usually tries to work towards one of the goals agreed upon in the previous phase.
